Your authentic expression. Own every keystroke. Poemir is a tap-to-compose writing app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac — poems, essays, journals, and lyrics. Composition tools (word flow, rhyme, rhythm) work in English and run offline on your device. Optional Apple Writing Tools proofread is off by default and appears only when you enable it and ask.

Common topics

iCloud sync — enable iCloud for Poemir in system Settings; silent push keeps libraries in sync across devices. Preferences (including library show/sort) also follow you via iCloud.
Library show & sort — use the up/down-arrow control in the library toolbar to show all, writings, lyrics with chords, SynapNotes, or screenplays (when Screenplay beta is on), and to sort by recent, created, or a–z. Choices sync with your other Poemir settings.
Library folders — optional. Create a folder from the library menu, tap to open it, and swipe leading on a writing or SynapNotes row to move it. Long-press a folder to rename it or tint its icon with a muted color (or leave it uncolored). Folders list above unfiled writings. New work created while browsing a folder is filed there. Deleting a folder keeps the items in your library; restore the folder — including its color — from Settings → restore folders. Folder membership and colors sync with iCloud; folder recovery snapshots stay on the device.
Writing proof — opt-in under Settings → composition. Records your keystrokes with timing while you write, as a record of how your words were typed. Replay sessions from the compose toolbar (clock icon) at 1x–20x with pauses condensed or in true time, or export a proof file / small video. Sessions back up to iCloud only when you leave the app.
Apple Writing Tools — off by default so no system popups appear over your writing; enable in Settings → composition to get the proofread bar and toolbar button.
Markdown / Lyric Mode / ambient sound — off by default; enable in Settings when you want them.
SynapNotes — always available from the library. Spatial brainstorming canvas (not generative AI). Double-tap blank canvas for a bubble; outline → + for linked thoughts; Make Composition when ready. Bulk export includes SynapNotes canvases.
Screenplay (beta) — off by default; turn on in Settings → screenplay beta. Write a scene in ordinary notes and preview formats it as a screenplay (scene headings, character cues, dialogue). Beta names features still coming, not a broken path — what is here works. Scripts stay in your library if you turn it back off. Export Fountain, FDX, PDF, or actor sides.
Kids Mode — parent-gated vocabulary limits in Settings.
Library recovery — recently deleted writings may be restorable from Settings → restore poems; deleted folders from Settings → restore folders.
