Writings (poems and related content) and SynapNotes canvases are stored on your device with Apple's SwiftData framework. App preferences — themes, typography, library show/sort, lyric mode, and similar settings — are stored in UserDefaults on device.
If iCloud is enabled on your device, Poemir can sync writings and SynapNotes canvases across your Apple devices via CloudKit (iCloud.com.poemir.app), and mirror preferences via Apple's iCloud key-value storage. Sync is managed by Apple, encrypted by Apple, and controllable in your device's iCloud settings. Background updates may use silent Apple push notifications (no banners, sounds, or badges — only brief sync wakes so changes from your other devices can import). Poemir cannot access your Apple ID credentials or other apps' data.
On supported devices, you may use Apple Writing Tools proofread from the composition toolbar. Text is processed by Apple's system intelligence — not by Poemir servers (Poemir has no servers). Use is entirely optional.
Word banks, rhyme engines, syllable tools, and semantic word flow run from data bundled in the app. No poem text is sent over the network for composition assistance.
Poemir does not collect personal information from users, including children under 13. Kids Mode is optional and parent-gated within the app.
